Costs
Because of the magnitude of the unknowns in the beginning, we use a pay-as-you-go strategy. As the frontiering project becomes more defined, we can provide more exact estimates as to costs.
Alternatively, clients can allocate a specified dollar amount. When we've applied that amount to the project, we can evaluate our progress. If the client likes the direction of the project and the speed and quality of our work, s/he can specify further amounts for us to apply. Eventually, the project will reach a state of development whereby the client feels comfortable taking it over from us. The client can return for our frontiering help whenever they want to accelerate progress on the frontier or reposition it.
